Headteacher Message
Mr. Worthington
Thank you to all prospective pupils, parents and carers for attending our Open Evening on Thursday. I hope the evening was enjoyable and provided a valuable insight into life at Dean Trust Ardwick. I would like to also thank our pupil helpers who supported within the faculties and did an amazing job showcasing the school. Our Head Prefects Samuel and Diane and Deputy-Head Prefects Qudama and Ramaya delivered amazing speeches, sharing what Dean Trust Ardwick means to them and how they have developed whilst at the school.
This week the focus has been on Respect and our ‘Culture of Kindness’. To help pupils understand how they can contribute to our ‘culture of kindness’ we teach them:
- That all our pupils have a right to an education.
- The Equalities Act: all the protected characteristics are deserving of our protection – ‘it’s not a pick n mix’ and…Discriminatory banter is never ok.
- Teamwork: we work together as a school, year group, form or a class…No matter the group, we do better when we work together.
Well done to all those pupils who have been awarded for ‘random acts of kindness’ – it is great to see you being kind to each other and strengthening our school’s culture. All winners receive a random acts of kindness ticket from a member of staff together with a chocolate treat. Pupils are also entered into a prize draw.
