23rd September 2015

Dear Parent/Carer

As we prepare to welcome pupils into the new building in Ardwick on Monday morning 28th September I would like to provide you with some important information.

Pupils are expected to arrive at school in time for a prompt 8.40am start. Those arriving after 8.35am will be marked late. School finishes at 3.00pm each day, however we welcome pupils into school from 7.15am until 5.00pm to support our working parents in particular. A variety of extra-curricular activities at lunch time and after school will be provided during the week and we look forward to pupils taking part in these.

The school is divided into two bands D and T (‘Dean’ and ‘Trust’). Your child knows which band s/he belongs to. On Mondays and Wednesdays D band pupils will travel by coach to Broadoak school after Period 2, to continue their practical lessons ( Performing Arts, Technology, PE and ICT). They will leave Broadoak at 3.00pm on the coach as we have been currently doing. T band pupils do the same on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All pupils stay in Dean Trust Ardwick school on Fridays.

By Wednesday next week the biometrics system will be installed. Until then your child will be provided with a free break and lunch. Whilst at Broadoak school pupils will continue to receive a free meal throughout the year.

Our website will keep you updated every week with useful information and news. Please do visit our school website www.deantrustardwick.co.uk every Friday where you will find a weekly Headteacher’s letter. This week’s letter will provide further information for you regarding our start at the new Dean Trust Ardwick building, together with some dates for your diary.

We are really looking forward to Monday, and I am sure your child will settle in just as quickly as at Broadoak school. Until then, to those of you who celebrate Eid, I hope you continue to enjoy the festivities. I look forward to meeting you in the near future.

Yours sincerely,

Ms S Finlay
Dean Trust Ardwick
